Camper package battery question

I have an 05 F350 PSD with the Camper package. I assumed with this package that the second battery would give me reserve power for my camper. I read in this forum that the diesels need two batteries to start. Am I getting reserve power from the truck battery?? I would think not because when my camper battery dies I can still start the Truck.

Nope. The truck batteries are isolated from the camper batteries.

Only when the ignition is off. With truck running it will charge the camper battery and supply 12v to the camper from the truck battries.

firesoutmatt is correct! You can verify this with a voltmeter at the 7 plug hookup. Fuses for the trailer/camper battery charge as well as turnsignals, stop lamps, ect, are located under the hood in the fuse box. Refer to your owners manual.

Oops, my bad... trailer tow battery charge may be in the fuse panel under the dash as it is in my truck. Again, just refer to your owners manual.
