I am putting a massaged small block into my 65 Effie and wonder what I should do for gas lines. I have stroked to 393, added AFR heads, Edelbrock Air Gap & Demon 750 carb, retrofit hydraulic roller from Comp Cams, Sanderson headers--hope to be making 400 to 450 horses without topping 6000 rpm. What I have read suggests that larger fuel line is needed for over 400 hp and the line coming out of the tank looks pretty wimpy. If I replace the line with bigger stuff, how do I tie it in to the tank? Isn't the small line in the tank going to be a restriction? Am I trying to make a problem that really doesn't exist? Thanks for any help or experience in this area.
I cannot be specific but I will tell you this my brother ran a dynoed 470 hp BB using stock s-10 fuel line, was it the right thing to do? Probably not but it never showed any signs of fuel starvation or being lean. Probably a custom item for the larger fuel tank outlet call summit or jegs for possible options. Easiest way would be a fuel cell then you could just run the line. Good question though if I come up with something I will post again. later

Thanks for the replies....Yeah, I have a pump with 1/2 in ports and will run that size from pump to carb but I'm wondering about from the tank to the pump--it seems like I'll be fighting a restriction wherever the line gets narrow. Anybody know what diameter the stock line from the tank is? Looks like maybe 1/4 in?
Hi BODIEBELL,
What I found is 3/16" brake, 1/4" fuel + 5/16" vapor recovery!
Change all your gas to 1/2" for your HYPERF! Did this to my wife's Jeep CJ (had to change, it was rusted all to hell, but I used 1/4 "on her 4.0~258 inline 6, no Hypo's here...YET!)

Hi BODIEBELL,
How does a person learn if no questions are asked!
The outlet from the tank has to be 1/2" or greater! You're right about restrictions! Even if you have to open up the hole in the tank (BE CAREFUL! WATCH OUT!! KABOOM!!) I mention this because it has to be! ALWAYS...SAFETY FIRST!!
