PCM vs. ECU
I think Truck is the key word here, there are some vans and other cars that may have EEC-V units in them, but not trucks till 96ish
This PCM uses a Quad driver and has a Transmission torque converter clutch solenoid. The TCC solenoid was replaced also.
As for the WAY1 EEC, that is a fairly popular unit, and there are a few others that should be close enough for you to use as well.
This EEC uses the AHACB strategy (program structure) and these catch codes/tune/calibration (DATA) all also use this strategy.
HOG0, HOG1, U4X0, VEX1 and of course WAY1 Probably all 351W MAF motors, different trans, rear ends, and who know what else.
The interesting thing about the WAY1 is Core tuning is saying it can also have an OBDII port connection type = J2534 or J3
So you have 2 of these EECs?
Remember, Big Red has been in the transmission shop since Oct/Nov 2021. They completely replaced the tranny and all solenoids, etc, 100% brand new (well, some refurbished parts because it is a 1995), but still getting an error from the computer to the transmission. We sent the computer (a F5TF-12A650-JB originally for a 1995 Bronco) off for repair twice before they told us the computer was not fixable. Then we had to find another computer, which was next to impossible because it must be the most popular type of computer out there... Because, like us, it is what most people who do a Speed Density to a Mass Air Flow conversion go for. When we did find one, it was $1000 and they wouldn't sell it to us without a VIN.
1) Getting around the VIN issue: I found I was able to go onto some car websites (like autotrader) to find 1995 Bronco's for sale and most of them have the VIN listed.
2) I was able to find a 1994 computer, much cheaper and much more readily available!
Thanks to rla2005 who said "It's not a resistor(s) that moved from the transmission solenoid pack to the PCM in 1995. They are solenoid suppression diodes. They prevent the inductive "kick" when de-energizing a solenoid from back feeding the control circuit and burning out the driver. A 1995 model year truck will be OBD-1."
I fount that a 1994 PCM would work for our 1995 F150 and really the only difference is that solenoid diode. Fiveology racing (who originally did our MAF conversion and they have FANTASTIC customer service) told us Big Red should run fine with the 1994 PCM with little probability that the missing diode will cause an issue. I looked and found several people who have posted that they did a similar PCM swap. SO, we did it! We found a F4TF-12A650-BFA MOE0 on Rock Auto for about $250. (We will still look out for the 1995 PCM for when one is in stock and then this one will be our spare.)
6 months, a New transmission, New battery, New computer and she ROARS!!! We are SO excited to have our Big Red back!!
I know this thread has been dead for a few years, I have been running the same truck discussed in the thread but to refresh your memory. I have a 94 f150, the original motor was the 302 and I swapped for a 351 from a 1991 bronco. I need to get a new ECU, the rock auto one you linked is long gone, I never got around to ordering it... I am looking at ordering one from Oreilys because they have remanufactured ECUs from cheaper than the other sites. If the truck and the sensors are from 94 I should need a 94 correct? The pin out of a 91 ECU wouldn't fit correct?
Sorry for the repetition, I just need to pass emissions and ECUs are expensive for a college student.
Thanks,
Michael Oliver

Well, normally I don't care for these zombie threads, but those are really good links!
Please consider putting them up in a new thread and welcome to FTE.
