AJ Simpson,
Forum member Papa Bear Yuma also installed a Retrosound system including satellite radio and commented he really liked it. Took his truck on a trip from Yuma to the Los Angles area and really liked the satellite radio, believe that was back in either 2017 or 2018. Haven't seen any recent post from him, sure hope he's okay and staying safe.
If LMC's radio is a Retrosound product, you might goggle search and see if you can get one cheaper close by and or check your local swap meets once they start back up, post COVID. I've seen Retrosound (basic) systems at the Pomona swap meet starting at $125. and you can usually negotiate prices.
I bought one from LMC a few years ago and it was a Retrosound brand. Works great - I don't have the fancy model that @PapaBearYuma got but mine is bluetooth and hands-free.
I bought the most basic model, with the monochrome display and aux input
i also have a portable XM radio receiver, the Roady, that I connect via aux or (usually) FM
My only gripe is that I can’t see the display when it’s light out. Shows up fine at night!
If I were to buy another, I’d likely get the multi-color display and Bluetooth. I can stream XM and Pandora on my iphone, so that’d be easier than using the RetroSound kit
The prior owner of my truck installed the non-Bluetooth Retrosound. I ran the AUX line into a Bluetooth adapter/cigarette lighter USB combo and have been perfectly happy with the sound and the radio does look fantastic.
PapaBear,
Good to hear from you, been missing reading your post (you're a gifted writer) with your upbeat posts. Honestly, I have a few good laughs reading some of your replies. Appreciate the candid feedback with your Retrosound system.
Mr. Bonus, also appreciate you sharing your Retround experience. I value experienced feedback, be it good or bad.
