Hey guys been reading the forums a long time, just never posted or had the need to.
The question I have , I just bought a new 2021 f350 with the 7.3 gasser.
I’m a construction supervisor and sit in my truck often for hours on end. I want to add AIC mod (high idle) to this truck/engine , is it possible to do so?
I searched the forums and didn’t see anything that could help.
Is what I’m asking possible? And if so can someone please point me to a how-to?
thanks guys, I really enjoy the conversations on this forum.
I believe the high idle function is only for diesels. Also I don't think its necessary since gasoline engines warm up and should stay warm idling on there own. But that is my knowledge and opinion on the matter.
I believe it is possible, can remember exact procedure but it involves going into the pto wires by passenger kick panel and you can use a resistor on a switch to get rpm you want.
Go to fordbbas.com and their is a builder manual for your truck that will tell you how. https://fordbbas.com/home

The Build and Price feature of the Ford.com site lists the "Stationary Elevated Idle Control (SEIC)" under Standard Features, for the 2021 Super duty F350 Lariat with a 7.3.
If I paid for it as a Standard Feature I would hope Ford and the Dealer will honor that.

Pretty sure it has been written like that for years. The functionality is there but it is not completed. Maybe that is so the end user can chose how they want it switched and what rpm. I think Ive read some have had their dealer wire it up at no cost. That will probably depend entirely on your relationship with the service department. I highly doubt mine would do it for free.

This is correct, all trucks are shipped with the SEIC. How you or the final upfitter control and access it is laid out in the body upfit guide.
