Battery

Is there a larger battery I can put in my truck? Currently the battery size is 56 series. 550cca. Thanks in advance.

looking at the parts stores on what they list, they shows a group 64 that will fit. 620CCA which isn't much more than your 56. It's listed as same price on the place I looked though.
I also go for the largest CCA I can find.
edited to add I think a group 65 will fit as well but I would measure to confirm. It shows it as 7.375" wide and 12" long and it shows a 750CCA
and a 34 is listed with 770CCA

CCA listed by some cheap batteries may not be equal to actual CCA depending on how they determine CCA. I recommend going with a top manufacturer of batteries like Interstate batteries. Use the recommended battery they list for your application. I've never been disappointed with Interstate. Can't say the same for cheaper auto parts store batteries that list the same CCA as Interstate but don't perform as well.

FWIW, for many years I have have great luck with Walmarts Maxx Everstart batteries. I have three of them in my cars and F150.

Battery

Thanks for answering my question. I guess I just need a new battery. A little sluggish starting with colder weather settling in for the season. Probably will look for an interstate battery. Always had good luck with them, just not easy to find in my area anymore.

Start here:
https://www.interstatebatteries.com/...-new-jersey-nj

Also Costco may carry your battery in some states. They require a membership.

I just bought an Interstate in August. They sold me a MT-56, 590 CCA. My 1986 F150 5.0L EFI's original battery was a giant heavy duty. Every battery I have bought for it since new has been smaller in physical size than the one before it. The new Interstate MT-56 is quite a bit smaller than the last, 10"x6"x8 1/4". I still haven't modified the hold down hardware to secure it.

I looked your application up on their website and the MT-56 was the only option listed. I recently bought two interstate batteries for my 6.9 diesel from Costco. They were the exact size as the originals so fit perfect. The warranty was 42 month and the CCA are 810.

interstate built these batteries for costco and they are not available directly from interstate. There are 4 more options to consider for the 6.9 directly from interstate's other dealers.

if you're shopping for size check out what your local costco offers.

The price at Costco was very reasonable too for the size, power and warranty.
