Muffler patch that works

I have tried various muffler patches and bandages and all of them are pittiful. I tore a gash in my muffler wheeling this year, and it was starting to sound bad. I rembered using some Oately metal epoxy on a grill mod I made in the Spring, and decided to try to use it for the repair. It comes in a tube, and is a putty you kneed together. Wear rubber gloves if you dont want rough hands afterwards, it has metal impregnated in it. Once hardened it is like steel, and although I havn't tried yet, the tube says you can drill and tap it. Well I smeared a 1.5 inch square of the stuff across the tear and it has held all week. I was worried about expansion and contraction breaking it loose, but so far so good. It cures in 15 minutes, and is ready to drill in 2 hours. I keep a tube in my trail box. Found it in the plumbing seciton at Lowes hardware. LOL
