Tailgate only opens with fob

Tailgate only opens with fob
So I just got a 2017 f350 and it has a couple electrical demons. The main one is the push button for the tailgate doesnt work and the button on the tailgate doesn't work out of a sudden. I have to use my fob to open it. Any ideas? Also I got my lights set to red in the cab but when I turn it off they change to blue.

Are you referring to the Ambient Lighting and it’s different colors?.
If I’m not mistaken, when the vehicle is turned off, the lighting reverts to the default color which is blue.
As long as the color chosen remains when your vehicle is running, all is working as it should.
As far as the tailgate release problems, perhaps you just need a new handle / switch assembly.
It’s unfortunate that the previous owner didn’t list or mentioned these problems but they do sound like simple repairs.

2017 Lariat and up last year I believe you can change colors. use the apps scroll over till you find it pick a bunch of colors. tailgate will only open with button on dash or button on tailgate when truck is unlocked even when sitting in truck

Thanks for the response guys. The push button on dash started working today but one on tailgate doesn't. Every now and than the cruise control wont work. The automatic running boards stick down or move down half way and go back up so I have to jump out or in. These kinds of things drive me crazy. My 2014 f350 with 220,000 miles on it never gave me 1 problem.
