I'm due for a new air filter. Does anyone have any experience or insight on a replacement filter? I was thinking of going with the AFE dry drop in filter. Thanks
Yeah I have read lots of guys over the years saying not to waste money on after market air intakes. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this new motor yet? I get the "rubber stamp" answer though.
Rain, the AFE pro dry s filter is spectacular, I had one on my cummins for years and years with no problems whatever. Easy to clean and high quality as well. Also, with a NA gas motor, they don't flow anywhere near the same cfm's as turbo deezels.
I read somewhere that Motorcraft filters are made by Wix?
Denny
The air filters were made by Purolator, however now that Purolator and Wix have been purchased by Mann + Hummel its all the same company. The only odd thing is the fact Ford uses Champion Laboratories for the OE oil filters on all the engines.
This is just a heads up for the ones that live or traveling out west this fall and winter. With all the smoke my Motocraft filter was extremely dirty after only 5K miles. I replaced it with a new one I had with me, I buy them two at a time from Rock Auto.
