Need help with fuse locations to install my dash cam, need to install the hard wire kit. Not sure which fuse box would work best and what is the best way to test to which fuse is which per the attached photo.

You should always include info about your truck, year, engine, etc in your request since you do not have it in a "signature block".
The fuse block for your 2015 is located in the passenger kick panel area. I would look for a fuse that is only hot when the truck is running. you can use a test light to find the fuse. Fuse 10 would be one that Ford made available.
Should the unused slots have fuses in them? I tested the fuses and found 1, 10, 23, 25 and 27 to be constant on and 42 and 45 to be switched on with ignition.
I also found a good ground location near the fuse box.
I tried to use one of those add a circuit fuses as pictured in the original post on a2015 and it wouldnt fit in the slot . Used the same tap on a 2012with no problem. I ended up connecting to the body builder loom on the left side of the dash. .
