4HI question

It is snowing here in Colorado, this is my first time trying out my 4wd, however when I have the truck in 4HI and I turn in the snow the front wheels act like the front axle is locked in. The wheels wiggle back and forth, if I hit the gas they seem to do better but I'm not sure if the wheels are spinning or what. I am afraid to make a sharp turn thinking something will break
Is this normal?

Sounds like normal operation.
You only want only run it in 4wd in slippery conditions.

If its binding you are bound to break something. Avoid sharp turns and dry pavement unless in straight lines with gradual turns.

Its normal to have binding when turning in 4x4, on a slippery surface its not a big deal.

Normal operation for these SuperDuty's. Mine does the same and I really noticed it last Sunday at the mountain parking lot which is tight to maneuver these big trucks.

If it's That locked up in 4Hi then it's going to feel like it's on a railroad track in 4Lo.

Sounds to me like 4wd was not needed at that moment so take it out and make your turn then put it back in if needed.

When it gets really cold out or an impending snow I manually lock the hubs and then just use the dial as needed.

Extreme cold has been know to be an issue with esof.

324.76 snowflakes on the ground is not enough to even think about needing 4wd. Leave it in 2wd and just go!
If you can feel it binding there is plenty of traction!
