Ok been chasing this intermittent misfire, now constant misfire for months, A 96 F350 4WD. PSD, boxtruck, auto, 110k miles, cleared CEL, IPR related New Ford ICP, new Ford CPS (purple ), Zibbix EGBPV and line, New lift pump (Carter), New fuel bowl (diesel orings), cleaned and cleared front tank, have FSV working, havent dropped rear tank as of yet. Fires right up has slight misfire and its intermittent which lead me to believe it was electrical. I ran Arch oil additive as the truck sat for a long time. Finally have AE setup, getting ready as soon as my batts reach peak charge to isolate this issue once and for all. SO previously I took it to a buddys shop where he used snap on to buzz test, the 4th buzz was noticeably weaker, which i was told corresponded to the 3rd injector. Replaced VCG (pax side) tested drivers side rang out good, ohmed out the big 49 pin connector. IDM had corrosion on pins of connector/unit cleaned pins replaced IDM. still have misfire. Can some one verify that the 4th buzz is related to 3rd cylinder and injector? or am I backasswords as usual? I did a quick once only buzz test with my AE setup and sure enough 4th buzz was weaker. I plan on getting it warmed up hooked up to confirm again. Then dive in ready to replace the failed injector if necessary. Thanks for any responses.
