Guys,
After putting my dash wiring back together and turning everything on the brake warning light does not come on.
I am in the middle of my brake job so there is no pressure on the system. Light should come on.
I did clean everything and install new bulbs in the dash.
I pulled the wires off the switch for the warning light, after checking, one side is ground.
I assume the way it works is the ground is open as long as there is equal pressure at the switch so the pin cannot be pressed in to transfer the ground to the light. I put a short into the plug which should simulate an activated sw but the light did not come on. The Fasten Belts, and dash lights come on just fine.
What am I missing without pulling the dash apart again?
Thank you, Alex
Problem was the large connector going into the fire wall. Cleaned contacts all good now.
Light comes on as it should when key is in the start pos..
Thank you all.
Alex
Good deal! Mine had a bad connection in that spot, and I used to have to sometimes jiggle the connectors to get it to work. But now it works all the time, coming on when I go to start the engine.
