2005 E450 Super Duty shuttle bus
I've been converting a 2005 e450 shuttle bus with the 6.0l engine into a tiny home for the past 6 months. The other day when trying to start her up the engine would not turnover. My brother who is way more mechanically savy suspects the fuel system was starved as it had little to no fuel left (the low fuel light came on but I thought it had enough to get to a station). It had started fine the day before and the only other changes recently was I added in a smart isolator to charge my aux/house batteries when the bus batteries voltage goes above 13.2V (which should only happen when the RPMs hit 2000 or more. I dont think that would have affected it since i added this in a few days ago and again it started up fine yesterday and the day before.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Have you tried jumping it? Maybe one of the batteries is dead.
Check and see if you blew any fuses when you hooked up your isolater.
I'm assuming the latter, and if so, there could be dozens of reasons why the engine won't start. The first step is to read the truck's computer modules to learn which codes they are reporting. The chances are great that the guys here can diagnose your problem, or at least narrow down the possible causes, just from that simple step. Although most auto parts stores offer that service for free, their readers are not always the best for our trucks and may not capture all of the codes. There are inexpensive Android apps that do that, you only have to buy an OBDII Bluetooth adapter for your truck.
