that is where the flux capacitor plugs in, there is also another plug with nothing connected to it hanging in the dash behind or stuck to the back of the 4x4 controller or near there, that is for your date/time selector to plug into. There is also a black cylindrical object under the hood on the driver side kinda sitting on top of the driverside front fender under the hood, that is where the plutonium goes, you need tools to open it and change out the plutonium, its a special order item if yours is depleted, make sure to also order some extra headlight fluid as well when you place the order, its hard to find these days.

OBDII port. I use it to change engine programs with my 5 Star Tune. I keep it plugged in because the Tune has a read out for Transmission Temps and I can change the Tune setting on the fly.
I think the OBDll ports started showing up on vehicles in 1997 (someone correct me if I’m wrong).
In the State of Georgia, it is used to check for air pollution readings and sent to the DMV as prerequisite for license plate (tag) renewal for “regular” vehicles, like my 2003 Corvette, which has issues.

Thanks. I have reached out to 5 Star in regards to a tune. Glad to hear you can read the trans temp with it. What other perimeters can you monitor? I usually add gauges to my TV, but if the tuner can monitor it all it saves me the work.
The other vehicles I have messed with were pre OBD2. A ‘94 SHO and an ‘88 IDI
Other things that I think are helpful is: Battery Voltage and Coolant Temp. There are other things that it monitors, but not something that will help in any decision making. I will use this device for now, but some GlowShift Gauges are in the plans for a three (3) pod gauge cluster on the A-pillar.
