When I was considering the trim options, I realized the purpose of the Limited trim level is to provide every possible option to consumers who have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). That segment really likes to know that they have everything that can be obtained, so they don't have to worry that they don't have an option they may need later. They prefer a diesel so that they don't need to worry that they may need the max HP/torque later. And some even so they don't have to worry about their buddies giving them a hard time about not having the top-of-the-line biggest, most powerful truck. When I saw it was only available in diesel, and that the sunroof was not de-selectable, I realized it wasn't for me. I got all the options I needed by adding to the Lariat trim (I wasn't worried about resale value).
What is on the Limited that you don't have on your Platinum? Seats, grille, tailgate, wheels? Can you upgrade those items to build a gasser you love?

Did you ever observe 3 or 4 little boys when they are sent outside to play? It is not long before they line up to see who can pee the furthest!!!!!
Now they are all grown up and still do the same thing, only in different ways!

I could never write my name in the snow.....destined to be an XLT guy.
Just like the looks of the Limited interior. I don’t use the truck to work. I call it the retired life!
I can understand that! My wife and daughter hated the racing stripe look on the Platinum seats.
If the interior look and feel is important to you, it wouldn't be too hard to swap out. Seats, sill plate, and steering wheel would probably be fairly easy to replace. Top of dash a little harder if that were important to you. Then you could sell the seats and steering wheel to a Lariat owner looking to "upgrade" and make up a lot of your parts cost. You might not have the Limited plaque with engraved VIN, but you might find someone to make a custom replacement.
Take a look at how insanely expensive the Limited interior pieces are from Ford. Probably not feasible to do an interior swap without a lead on a wrecked part out.

I didn't want a 4 door. I like the supercab so Lariat was the highest I could go, don't like holes in my roof either ( I'm not a rag top guy). Happy with options I could add. If you think about it from Fords side, holy crap the thousands of variables with all vehicles they have, then there's the over seas stuff, and the parts side of the deal. If you take a good look at it I would have to say we're pretty lucky people. Every time I get in that "Bad Larry" I know it's a kick *** truck.
