from what I gather through reading the instructions they come pre positioned. You remove the old slug from your upper ball joint and install these. You set them in a specific position and put everything back together. They give you the degree of caster you lose lifting the front end plus one additional degree of caster. Then you just have to adjust your drag link to center the steering wheel. (Long bar from gear box to the right side knuckle. )
Thanks. I assume if I called CJC or any other reputable shop they would be able to tell me what I need or are their measurements that need to be taken?

Your lift height(2") is all thats needed. Caster shims of around 2 degrees are the most common and inexpensive way to regain some caster after a level/lift of your height. The shims can be sourced all over, SPC is a common brand included by some of the lift manufacturers with their kits, including Carli. Adjustable radius arms are superior if you have the coin. $1k+ vs. $40-$60.

Thank you for the info. Ill be ordering a set of shims. For the cost of radius arms I think Ill end up spending the money on wheels.

I’m not sure about others but the carli shims you can bolt in and drive away. Other brands you may need an alignment machine to see which shims you need and in what position. They need to be in.

It may have changed, but the shims Carli supplied in the past were SPC brand. With the correct part#, the same shims can be sourced all over, including places like Autozone etc. I wouldn't be surprised if the other lift manufacturers use the same brand and part# in their kits.

no these look like pre drilled shims that will set the alignment with out the use of the machine. Hence why they want them installed a certain direction. Normally when you put shims in your on the alignment machine and rotate them to where you want the wheels positioned.
Carli shims are 2°. SPC, Delco, and others are available in 2.3° and 2.6°. Run 2.3° on the driver's side and 2.6° on the passenger side to compensate for road crown.

What part do you disagree with? Did you read post 39 in that link? The Carli bushings/sleeves/shims are the same style if not the exact same part as the 2 degree SPC shim. Both will give the full stated caster adjustment with no camber adjustment when the slot is positioned towards the front of the vehicle. That is why Carli instructs you to do so. Both can also be turned but that will then give less caster and have an affect camber.
Compare the parts shown on the Carli site(stamped SPC) with those of the other SPC part.

I ended up ordering from CJC only because their website was easier to work with and about $20 cheaper.
$20 cheaper than where? $60 plus tax for me through CJC. $53 otd from another source that charges tax and shipping.
The reason I mentioned the fact that they are SPC shims was because they could possibly be sourced locally, maybe even same day or next day for the same price as CJC or Carli. If time is not an issue I would think there are several other online choices where a cost savings could be had.

i went directly to SPC to support them, they were over $20 more than CJC. Some may say its only $20 but on a % basis thats huge. Im not going to over pay by n that much.

I don't think anyone was necessarily suggesting ordering directly from SPC, there is no reason to. They charge MSRP, $29.84 ea.. I dont know what they want for shipping or tax. They can however be purchased through places like Autozone and Orielys next day for the same price as CJC. I haven't done an extensive search but CJ Pony parts comes out to $41.98 +tax and shipping, $53.81. Thats $10 less than CJC.
