General Motors just had to hold up the release of a replacement car for the Buick Regal in Quebec Canada. It seems the new car, "the LaCrosse" has a different ring to it in the French speaking part of Canada. The term "Lacrosse (It) means a couple of things, either to ********** or 'I just got screwed,' or 'I just got taken'".
Just like a typical GM product, not doing there homework before tackling a project. No wonder the marketing for GM has always been so poor. Anyone remember the release of the NOVA in Mexico, you know that small Japanese knock off. The term Nova in spanish means "No go" or "Doesn't go". Talk about truth in advertising!

Hey, in all honesty, my girlfriend drove an '87 Chevy Nova that ran like a champ until she skidded into one of those island dividers (in the rain) and smashed it all up. That thing was no Chebby - it was japanese through and through. Only reliable thing I've ever seen with a Chebby badge on it...
Maybe Chebbie should just start buying Honda Civics, rebadging them, and selling them as "the new cavalier"
I have both ford and chevy : Mercury topaz and Chevy Caprice, with 2.3L and 5.7L respectively.
Both with just over 100K miles.
Both well tuned up and get optimum mileage, 29 vs. 21 mpg.
I will drive them both until the wheels fall off. Would be interesting to see which one lasts longer. Merc. seems to be burning more oil 1qt/1000 but runs very well. On the other hand, it has a rebuilt tranny.
it's a shame, my favorite brand of cars is buick really. Well...back in the day when it really was a buick. Buick used to stand for full size, average joe car.
Now...i'm not sure what they're angle is. It's a more expensive brand than chevy, and is basically the same thing. Plus the Rendevous looks like some kind of cadillac abortion.
This is no worse than their naming the H2 after a blow job. And, thanks to the women's lib "equal rights" agenda, I can just imagine the next SUV in the offing:
