It appears that my current project, Tug, a 1991 F150, needs to pull the cab off the frame ( frame damage). I have to do some minor patch work to the cab, a pair of cab corners and a rocker panel, has anyone made a cart that the cab would mount on, so that i could be able to do the bodywork, and maneuver it around my shop? I have a few ideas, but i would love to see anyone else's designs before i start building my cart next weekend.
I made a little trailer deal that leg on the back so I could roll the trailer tongue up and it'll set so you can work on the roof and floor. Make sense?

I just used some of the cheap dollies(with the carpet on them) from harbor freight. Had them under the rockers then rolled it onto the back to work on the floor.
I just measured the distance between the cab mounts and made a rectangle that big, I used 2x8's for the lumber.. so its 2 rectangles with about 2 foot legs in between. for the legs i screwed the 2 pieces of 2x8 in and "L" shape and its plenty sturdy. the rear cab mounts are higher so i just shimmed them with 2x4 pieces. if you're using a cherry picker like I did make sure to leave clearance on the bottom the get the cherry picker underneath (I learned that the hard way) and 4 swiveling caster on bottom and it work great.
all measurements approx since it is not here curently
2" thin wall square tubing welded into a 4'x5' rectangle.
(4)8" swivel casters(had small casters, they sucked, took them off)
I made legs that go up from the rectangle frame. They are PINNED onto he rectangular frame so they are removable
The front has 2 legs that go up about 6-8" and have a rail across the top to let front cab mounts rest on it
The rear has 2 legs that come up about 12-14" and have a rail across the top to le the rear cab mounts rest on it
This same cart I have a pair of tall legs (about 3' tall) for a bed to set on.
I have used this cart for a 79 ford, superduty and ranger supercab. also about 8 different beds
Thank you all for the input. i have a design drawn up, i think it will end up similar to Diesel Brad's setup. I especially like the idea of a taller set of legs that allow for a bed to go on as well.
