Since this is my first push button start veh., I am wondering what I would do to start my truck if the battery on the fob goes dead. I have not found any alternate keyways, nor am I aware of an alternate starting procedure. I know that other vehicles have a physical indent where you place the fob in the depression to turn and start the car. Is there a way that I am not aware of? TIA
rhe physical indent is located under the rubber between cup holders.
maybe if you put the fob there you can drive the truck
in curious and am going out to the truck to try it
this reminds me of something I have been wanting to do ...order a magnetic key box Put a battery in original wrapper in it, and stick it to the metal frame.
If you have the Push Button start, You probably also have the buttons on the door to unlock the truck. So you don't need Ford Sync to get inside the truck.

If the fob battery is too weak to unlock the door, you can use the emergency key that is part of the fob to unlock the driver's door. No need to store a spare fob battery outside the truck cab. You also might need the emergency key to unlock the door if the truck battery is too dead to power the door locks.

my door has code numbers to open with no key slot.
the battery is in case there is no reception for Ford sync to open the door.
I keep changing my door code to the pin I want and it keeps unchanging it...so bot trusting that.

yes....if it would only keep the code I keep programming into it ...

I have the number pad too but all the trucks have a key slot in the driver's door handle. If your truck battery is dead you won't be able to use the power locks so neither the number pad nor Ford sync will be any good. You will need to use the mechanical key stored in your fob.
I know about the depression under the mat at the bottom of the console; I thought it was used for programming the fobs. I saw another post showing a depression under the forward cup holder in which the fob was shown sitting upright. I don’t have that. But if the truck will start by placing the dead fob in the lower depression, I’m good.
