i have a 2008 F-350 super duty 5.4 liter 8 cylinder 4x4 automatic, i bought it in august, the first night i had it, i noticed the number 3 on the shift indicator is always lit up very dim, can not be seen during the day. truck has a fisher plow, beacon light, had a cb radio its removed and it had 2 different sanders removed, it a had a rechargeable flash light removed and a spot light thats removed and a loud speaker, thats removed. it was a state truck, it has always been serviced.
any ideas what could cause the dash shift indicator light to be on? i believe it does draw on the battery a little or maybe some of the other stuff wired into the truck created a short. i start it every 1 or 2 weeks and it is fine. all wiring to my knowledge is unhooked except current minute mount plow and beacon light to the accessory switch.
