I have a 1965 F100 3 speed manual transmission with clutch failure. The truck has a 351 C and a 3 speed trans out of a 1971 maverick.
What is the best way to find the correction clutch replacement. Any help would be great. Thank you
Do you know which model of 3 speed? Pulling the trans and clutch out will help. Measure the clutch disc diameter and count the input shaft splines to make triple sure you get the right parts.
If in doubt I call my clutch supplier and have him pick it up, along with the flywheel for resurfacing. I don't know where you are, this may not be an option.
It should be a 11inch 10 spline. Unless someone has rednecked something in there. As stated in other posts you probably need to remove it to know for sure. The correct pressure plate for a 351C should be a D1ZZ-7563-C.
I recommend upgrading to a more modern diaphragm style pressure plate that has less pedal effort and a clutch with either ceramic and/or carbon fiber on one face to last longer and hold better than traditional organic facings. If you call any of the major clutch companies (e.g. McCleod, Centerforce, Ram) and tell them what engine, flywheel (yours should be a 164 tooth) and trans you have they will get you set up with the proper kit.

Justed wanted to thank everyone for the advice. I dropped the transmission and removed the clutch to verify all the information yall gave me and was right on target.
