I am asking how to remove the tailgate from my 2017 Super Duty dually (with camera and all the other bells and whistles). The manual makes this sound simple, but I was not able to figure it out once I got underneath. Manual indicates 1 connection but as far as I can tell there are 4 connectors tied into the harness/pigtail going into the tailgate. Any help is appreciated

The hardest part is fishing the wires in and out of the hole. Disconnect the 4 connectors, use the caps to keep moisture out, then pull one at a time up through the rear cross member. Then hold the tailgate at a 45 degree angle and pull both cables off, then pull the right side hinge off, and slide the tailgate to the right. With the power lock, camera, step, etc, these things are pretty heavy, and it's best to have 2 people so you don't drop it.

Put 2 saw horses padded, one left one right, right to the bumper, they'll support it at any and all stages.

This time, this wasn't possible as the tailgate was away from home, but most of the time when I remove it, it will be where I have two sawhorses. Great suggestion.
