Same here, THANK YOU!
growing up in the largest military instalation in the world, Hampton roads Virginia, which is just a few cities smashed between 10 or so military bases, gave me my respect and admiration for what our fighting men and women have done and will always do for us.
I hate to say it, but that level of info is not a smart thing for an Active Duty to post.
I try to avoid going there, but I guess I'm basicly stupid.
(Which is why I own and became proficient at the guns I have without military sponsored training)
We live in an age where it is important to hold some things back.
I do not choose to be singled out, and will follow the principle of "CYOA" until I am once again a private citizen.
I advise all others on ACDU posting on World Wide Public Web Sites to follow my example (as explained in this message)...
Although I have leaked some info about myself - too much info can not be explained from the inside of a pine box, and I try to be realistic about that.
I have goofed up, and will sweat out the next (X) number of weeks for having done so.
But I think anyone trying to get at me won't make it out.
Since my replacement(s) have already arrived, the only loser would be me.
We don't know where all of the "Tango's" are, we do know they are out there...
As a public service for Military personnel then, READ AND HEED!
Everything you ever heard about "Loose Lips Sink Ships" is more important than ever.
There's no need to go there.
I'll tell Ya about it in about 3 to 5 years.
And I know that sounds tight assed as hell, but I believe it is necessary.
I have no problems telling someone where my home station is or how long I have been in or current rank. but there have been deployments in the past where I couldn't even tell my Family where I was. I don't blame You in the least for being tight lipped. I don't mind people asking questions about what I do I do get edgy when people start asking about stuff they don't have a need to know. In this day and age there is no "gee-whiz" info.
robnfl,
I grew up 5 miles from NAS, JAX (Venitia area). There are some really nice places in Jacksonville, unfortunately the base looks like it hadn't been touched since the 1940's. I guess thats why I joined the Air Force, quality of life is 100% better.
SSgt in the USAF (AFSOC). I'm a crew chief on the MH-53M Pavelow IV helicopter. Most of you special Ops boys know what I'm talking about!! I've been in 6 years and going strong... at least for the next four I re-enlisted for. We'll have to see after that, but who knows. I've been all over for the short time that I've been in, and certainly I have no regrets. It's a different world being in the military, you all know that, but what a kick *** time it can be. Luckily I got a lot of pictures of the places I've been and things I've seen to remind me of that when things aren't all that great. All I can say is the choices I've made since I've been in have changed my way of life and nothing else could make an impact luike that. Hoo-yah Airforce..
