Rounded up all my special tools I had in the basement, motorhome and in the shed and put them in the truck. Fuel pressure tester was delivered yesterday. We are going to take the mom in-law the Envoy and bring back the caddy this afternoon. I am going to change the fuel filter and then then test the fuel pressure to see if I can figure out why it keeps cutting off. No trouble codes so it has to be either the fuel pump or throttle body. Ordered another $400 dollars worth of new tools so I should have 99.9% of the stuff I need and not have to borrow anything. Excited but a little nervous.
Hard to believe that my son turns 5 next week. He is growing up so fast.
Hope everyone got to see the star last night before it disappeared
99.9% of the leaves are off the trees so I did a real good yard clean up today. I moved my motorcycle down towards the basement, I will put it inside tomorrow after I move some stuff around.
The mom in-laws caddy was cutting off at random times, pulled the codes and found the cam sensor is going bad, got one coming tomorrow. I need to relook at the rear axle again, making a funny sound when you go over bumps. Never did that before.
Cam sensor is throwing a fault on the mon in-laws caddy so I am installing a new one. I also had to order some more rear diff control arms. The upper arms are bent and that's the main thing throwing off the axle.
Seriously thinking of buying her a nice used SRX and just keeping the Escalade. I talked to her about it and she was good with it.
My civil service retirement finally came thru!! Have not received the big payment I was expecting but I did get back pay for the months I have been waiting for it to go thru.
Heading back to work tomorrow and dropping my 2 week notice. This is going to be a very interesting next 2 weeks.

I ended up taking a trip to the ER due to my oxygen staying to low and got to where I couldn't breath. I was there for about 6 hours and after they did about all they could do, they set me up with oxygen at home. Been feeling and doing a lot better. CHI Memorial in Chattanooga was slammed packed with COVID patients. The Ambulance ahead of me had to wait for an ER bed for 2 hours. My wife is too stubborn to get tested. Says she doesn't want anything shoved up her nose lol. She seems to be doing a lot better now as well.
My truck needed cranked as it hasn't been started in 2 weeks. I felt good enough to drive it yesterday. I drove to town and ride for a couple of hours. Brakes are squealing so I'm guessing that is something for me to do when I get better. I'm wanting to put a tune on that truck for better fuel mileage. That 3.5L eco has way more power than I need lol. I think Tim Durham went to school on that stuff. He is a fellow racer and owns his own garage with 8 mechanics working for him. He's always giving us racing tires and oil to help sponsor our car. Ofcourse we have his name down both sides of both our cars. We have one ready to race. The other still needs a lot of work after that last crash. Mostly front end work. Bent tubing and such. Thinking of putting a crate motor in it so my son will have 2 races to drive. Between me and his Paw Paw we do a pretty good job at keeping the cars going as long as he stays out of the big crashes. Big crashes set us back a while.
Bought a used differential on eBay for $225.00 with free shipping for the 07 Escalade, also ordered a rear sway bar too. With the new rear diff, all new upper and lower control arms, new track bar and sway bar that should hopefully fix the rear end issues. I am 99 percent sure that the axle is bent so I am replacing everything. Once I get all that stuff replaced I will have it put on a frame machine just to make sure everything is straight. I spent over an hour trying to remove one bolt that holds a cover over the cam sensor, They decided it was great engineering to put the bolt directly behind the harmonic balancer. I never got it loose so I gave up for now.
Putting in my 2 week notice today, it's going to be an interesting for the next 2 weeks.
Still nothing from higher up about me leaving, it's just crazy.
The new rear axle and sway bar are on the way for the caddy, Just waiting on the parts to arrive.
The new rear diff arrived yesterday at lunchtime, man that was fast delivery. Today I am going to change the fluid and cover gasket and paint it. All my tools are at my new job so I can't install it.
Turned in my uniforms yesterday and got most of my personnel stuff out of my office. All I have left in the shop is my roll around and the rear diff. Still have another week but would not be surprised if the division president shows up today and lets me go.
Christmas day my ex wife called her mother. She had been "missing" and presumed dead since June. Daughter said her mind has real gone done.
Happy New Year to everyone and be safe
