We are taking the Mom in-laws Caddy to the tire place today to get an alignment. That will tell me if the rear axle is bent or not. Fingers crossed that it's not. I started to buy little tools that I know I will need for my new job. First thing I ordered is a set of nylon panel removal tools. Now I am looking at buying a coolant pressure tester, an electric 3/8 ratchet, quick disconnect tool set, digital micrometer and TPMS tool. The 3 code readers I have should be just fine. One reads the codes from all the modules so I should be good there. I need to clean out some of the bigger tools i used at the CAT place that I won't need to make room for the new stuff.
Congrats on the new job Chief. Been real busy down here getting ready for Christmas in the mountains and finding someone to stay with the mother-in-law. Put new BFG's on the Excursion. Sold the 95 F-350, and started looking for a Expedition for the wife.
Thanks Jim! I am excited about it.
Nice truck!!
We went to the falls light night to see the christmas lights. They have a million lights, Santa, small train, petting zoo, it's pretty cool. It started raining on the way out and since it wasn't far from my new job I swung by to show the wife the dealership. Under the service department awning there were 2 homeless people staying out of the rain. My almost 5 year old son asked : Daddy why is there dead people at your new job? He was visibly shaken and we had to explain that they were not dead and just staying out of the rain.
I got a letter in the mail from the Florida DOT on Saturday that I have an unpaid sunpass toll. The problem is the picture is of a toyota not the Caddy, we were not in Florida at the time and I have a sunpass so I will be calling them today to try and get it straightened out.
Been looking into tools I might need to add to my tool box that I might need at the dealership, it's going to be pricey.
Jim Truck looks good
Chief. Harbour Freight is uping the quality of their stuff
We are still in limbo on this house. even ask mom just sell me the house still could not get a clear answer. I am leaning more and more to moving when our finances can hand a mortgage. laid the tile for the foyer and sabouy 1/2 the flooromg for living room and dining room
I am looking at transmission specialty tools. There are not too many from what I see. There were a few things I put on my list that ae want to have and not a necessity right now.
Congrats on the new job. Now you can tell your old district manager that they can "Take this Job and Shove it" lol. But I wouldn't burn that bridge. You should let on about the new and exciting opportunity that has been offered to you working for GM. Give them some time and watch them closely for a little bit lol.
Seems like they never miss the good workers until their gone.

Nice BFGs. Love the color of your truck. Mine keeps getting mud and light scratches on it from National Forest service roads that haven't been mowed on the sides. Brairs, bushes, to small tree limbs I've been having to dodge. Many of the roads we have had to cut trees out of the road from the storm damages. I can tell where my tax dollars and liscense fees are not going. I guess those funds were misappropriated by incompentent government. Some of the roads are like driving down a creek bed. I feel like pop corn popping while driving less than 5 mph lol.
But heck, like I've always said It's just paint. Most of it can be buffed out or I can repaint it and have that blue ford I kept wanting.
The tongue jack to my Airstream give up the ghost. I started to buy a new replacement, but being able to lower my tailgate without hitting the jack is a real plus. I was using a 2 ton bottle jack at first for my backup jack. Then I got my 2 ton scissor jack that comes factory with the Ford. I cut a slot in a 5/8" impact socket and use my cordless impact wrench.
So that got me to thinking, I should start looking at the junkyards to see if I can find more of them. I've looked at them online, but I think I can get it cheaper. I wouldn't mind if I could find a couple or 5 from one ton trucks.
I've been trying to keep up with my hunting buddies. I saw 1 bobcat Wed., 5 doe Thur. and 7 Doe Fri. at Crockford-Pigeon Mountain WMA. I was feeling under the weather Friday and packed up before the rain moved in. Satruday I was sick. It felt like the comon cold. I think I sweated it out of me thou. If it hadn't been for that it may have took a hold on me.
On another note I have joined the Airstream form. My 20 plus years of mistakes and self education with my AS is now helping others. Pass on the knowledge. I noticed many have only had their camper for a year or less.
Wife only had to spend one night in the hospital. She is resting and I am taking care of everything else. Tomorrow I go for the Pee pee test for my new job. Going to take my tool box to the dealership next week.
My father in-law and mother in-law tested positive for COVID19. I'm going to get tested asap. Me and the wife have been sick for a week now. I don't think I have it but my father in-law has been sick for 2 weeks and the mother in-law 1 week. I'm just going to be on the safe side so I don't go spreading the crap.
I filled out the paperwork for the background check and did the pee pee test yesterday. Going to move my tool box to the dealership on Monday. John Deere is closed for the week so I can do it undercover and so I don't have to move it during my last 2 weeks. I have to round up a few of my special tools I have here at the house and make sure I take them with me. The Service Manager can tell I am excited about getting to work there. I am just hoping they don't throw a transmission job on me as soon as I get there.
