I need a driver's side door for my 96 f250 xlt. A guy here locally has one from a 93 f150. My truck has power windows and locks. The 93 has power windows, doors and locks. Would this be a plug and play swap or would wiring have to be done to get my locks windows to work? I'll just swap my mirror from my door over so the mirrors on both doors match. Will making this swap be a big hassle or Should I just keep looking for a door with only power windows and locks like mine?
Does one have the paddle mirror and the other stainless steel swing away? That will be the bigger issue. The other stuff should plug right in as far as I know.

Yes. I was just going to swap the mirrors. Will that be hard to do? I was more worried about getting the window and possibly lock to work.
There are threaded inserts on the door for the lower mounting points. There is a welded in bracket for the top mount. Also I believe that the upper holes are spaced different than what is used for the “paddle” style mirror so that does not line up but I could be wrong about that.
Can you make it work? Yes but when searching for a door it asks what mirror style you have.

A couple things to consider
1. the 96 has a extra body seam at the bottom(9/95-97)
the 93 does not
2. you cannot just simply change mirrors.
The small paddle mirrors have 2 exterior bolts and then a "outrigger" that goes thru the door and is attached from under the door panel. There is a Large square hole in the door for the outrigger
The swing away mirrors have 4 bolts that hold them to the door. NONE of the paddle mirror bolt holes will work with the swing away
3, You will have to remove the harness from the door on your 96 and pit it into the door on the 93. There is no plug to unplug it from the cab on the drivers side
87-91 doors will also fit, but the vent windows would have to be swapped because they are longer than 92-96 vent windows since the dashboards are different.

Brad, Im doing a door swap myself and would love to keep my swing out mirrors (even though the old doors I found to replace my doors are set up for the paddle style doors).
If I wanted to alter the doors so they would work with the swing outs, how involved of a process would it be? In other words, will it be so involved that I should
just say the heck with it and buy the right door shells online?

I am obviously not Brad so maybe that’s why I don’t understand your question.
You would still have a functional vent window. The style of mirror is irrelevant. You can remove the newer style vent window assembly and install the older style or vise versa.

I’m so sorry. I wrote that completely wrong. My question doesn’t have to do with the vent windows. It’s about the mirrors.
My original doors - crushed in a car accident - had the swing out mirrors.
I bought some replacement doors from another old truck. But they have the set up for the paddle mirrors.
I’ve seen the posts above about how different the doors are for the paddle mirror setup and the swing out mirror set up.
I’d like to keep the swing out mirrors - they look awesome.
My question was: just how difficult would it be to convert the replacement doors I’ve already bought (that are set up for paddle mirrors) to be able to receive swing out mirrors?
Thank you for the reply, and sorry for the confusion.
