Have an E99 that needs rear ext cab doors. Found a guy with two rust free ones. I am assuming all years from 1999-2016 door wise should fit? Anybody know for sure?
I have found a set of rust free southern doors but if they will not work I don’t want to waste my $400. So if anyone has any info on it it would be awesome and greatly appreciated!!!
When I was looking for doors Ebay sellers list them as 1999 to 2007, 2008 to 2010 and 2011 to 2014. So I looked for 99 to 2007. Did not want to have doors shipped from different years and find out they did not fit.The doors on Ebay are from salvage yards so figured they knew what fit different years.
They look the same to me. I am gonna drive down there and the guy is okay with me swapping one onto my truck to make sure it’s gonna work.
I will let everyone know.
Well to put the question to bed........................YES!!!!
2008 Ext cab doors fit on my 99 F-250. Hinges are exactly the same.
PROS:
I did have to adjust them to get them latching correctly and reveals on the door panels even but they do fit and work great!!!! I have heard road noise due to the bottom seems of the doors rotted out for so long that I feel like I am riding in a double thick windowed Caddy. Not quite that good but is so much better. Another added surprise I didn’t know about was that the 08 doors have the seat belts in the doors, which I love. It gives so much more access to the back seat and works a lot better then the original roof mounted ones in my opinion. Ran into a little snag with the wiring rubber hose things but I think I fixed that pretty good. Anyways just so anyone in the future must know they do fit.
CONS:
There were a few items that were less then perfect doing this but really don’t bother me currently. My truck is a E99 with 303,000 miles on it. She came from Texas but snow plowed for me for 8 years in the rust belt. Unfortunately the rust has really taken a toll on her over the past few years. So I say that to say she isn’t perfect, but she is paid off. So I need more functionality then looks. She has the denim interior color that they only offered for 6 months. So finding interior pieces in the denim color is just about impossible. So the doors came with grayish/tan door panels. At first I was like I will change them out, but then would loose the door mounted seat belts which I like so I left them. So the interior is a little weird looking currently. Thought about painting next spring but we shall see.
Due to the seat belts in the door that required me to take the original seat belts out which of course had to be drilled out due to rust. So those removed leave some open hardware areas that I will have to fix. Again I am good with it for now. I will brainstorm on some fixes. A new headliner which she desperately needs would take care of the upper stuff. Thought about getting some 08 sill trim pieces to help but I will see what I can come up with.
My vin and weight sticker is on my old door. So I will have to try and figure out what I am gonna do there.
I did take a few photos. If anybody has any suggestions to cover up the bottom stuff let me know.
If you can get a picture of your VIN label off old door Marti Label will duplicate it. Did this on mine. When you peel label off old door it says VOID on label so cannot reuse. Search Marti Auto Works.
