I went with new parts/kits since budget wasn't really my constraint as much as finding a viable donor truck near my area. If you can find a clapped out donor truck for the same money- go with the donor truck. Park that joker next to yours and go at it if you don't need this truck for daily driving.

You'll learn quite a bit about these trucks along the way and that is part of the experience in my mind. Not to mention the pride of DIY results and savings.
