Cab Mount Bushing Puller

I was really proud of myself for designing a puller for my cab mounts, however, I still can’t get it out

3” PVC end cap fitting with all thread (see attached)

it’s pulling but so far all I’m doing is squashing the top bushing (See attached)

should I keep going and give it more wd40, time and hammering from the top? )see attached )

or have I screwed something up?

thanks in advance

Hammering spare all thread from top

Puller

Squeezing top bushing

I would cut out the top rubber bushing if your going to try an separate as its just to flexing , this will allow it to drop an pull against the metal solidly

I can only add how I did mine but it took torch to get cherry red to separate the upper an lower sleeves , but I had pulled cab off an bed , I cut out the rubber bushings off and then cut the upper sleeves top part off to drop it out and then put in a vise to heat then separated the upper an lower sleeves , then I made a new top for my upper sleeve mount and bought new lower mount original style from bronco graveyard but the upper I made to be like original ,,of course I had it all pulled and as your finding out there pretty well seized together , all I can add is sometimes they can be separated and sometimes they don't ,,heck I had the cab off and had tried to separate with hammer an punch , perhaps I could have tried harder and got them separated but it was easier to cut a fab later , first picture is the lower which can be bought and 2nd picture is how I made the upper which I later welded together ,,I hope you get them apart but for me cutting a fabricating was quicker in the long run for me as I installed new bushings ,,

thanks

after a few more tugs I found the limits of my PVC contraption so I put the old bolt back in and called it a day

I was wondering - why can’t I just take a sawzall and cut the whole thing out - I bought new hardware with the bushings - it doesn’t look the same, but seems like I don’t need the old stuff

Yeah cut it off , all I tried to save was the upper sleeve because I wanted to make it like original , you can buy the bottom part but the upper that is sold is not exactly like the original but does work , I just opted to make my own

Last weekend I made the new hardware for my highboy to go with the new bushings. I used big washers, 3/4" pipe, and 1/2" pipe.
I used this thread for reference with my own measurements.

You've got the right idea. Just use some metal pipe.

Some have used exhaust couplers. I used a exhaust tip.

Tighten nut, tap a few times with a hammer, yank a little, repeat.

They will eventually break free.
