One wire alternator

OK I have been doing some reading on one wire alternators and also getting rid of the dura spark box. I have read an article on it but now the question /s where do I get a one wire and will it bolt up in place of the one I have now on my 400 ? The article mentioned using gm parts on the distributor. Is there an article that talks to the dummies like me on doing this. I need pictures. I would like to clean up the wire mess with all the dura spark stuff. Any help is welcome.

Thanks
Art Scott

Never understood why people want the GM 10si alternator thats been converted to 1 wire. They have terrible low rpm charging, prone to diode failure and are too large for no good reason. You are much better served with a 3G alternator that overcomes all these issues and has a whopping 3 total wires to connect.

You need the large case alt that fits ford 3.8 v6 Taurus/ Windstar/ Mustang mid 90s era. They have the same bolt spacing as the alt on the 351m/400. Just need to swap pulleys and set up the wiring. Eazy Pezy.
