So im about to drop a 302 in a 63 shortbed I was wondering if I just hook it up like the other starter that was originally in it and how to wire the altonator? Do I use the original voltage regulator
You need to wire it according to what you new system is... If you have an ALTERNATOR with an internal regulator, then you want to eliminate the old voltage regulator.... Is your alternator a one wire or three wire alternator... you need to wire accordingly! I have a 352 with a one wire Alternator.. so I have ONE heavy gauge wire running directly to the positive terminal of the battery. A three wire will have a wire to the batt., a wire to the field, and a ground.... so you need to be specific as to what you are installing!
