Can the cabin heater be added?

So now that it's getting colder it has come my unfortunate realization that I don't have the cabin heater. I looked at the window sticker, no mention of it there. I didn't even think about it when I bought it. The truck was originally ordered in NY and dealer traded to the place I bought it in wheeling WV. The dealer trade had nothing to do with me as the dealership is 70ish miles away, just happened to see it online in the "vehicles you may be interested in".

Can it be added?

Rapid-Heat Supplemental Cab Heater (41A) is standard in AK, CO, IA, ID, ME, MI, MN, MT, ND, NH, NY, SD, VT, WI, and WY. You should also have the block heater as standard.

Mine came with dual alternators with one being the 397 amp version but no rapid heater.

Sure would like to know if it could be added as well!

Its 397 amps total. The Dual 332 is a 175 + 157 combo, and the Dual 397 is a 220 + 157 combo.

In theory, yes it can be added. The real question is, at what cost. There is a thread, I think on FTE, where a guy added the aux heated to his truck (2011-2016). It requires you to pull the dash to remove the HVAC box or to get access to the HVAC box. Add the components to insert the aux heater and then hope your truck dash wiring has the connector. then you have to program the the truck APIM for Aux Heat.

I'll have to take your word for it. All I know is it says 397 amp alternator on the window sticker and it has two.

Don't take my word for it, Ford has this published.

You can order with two alternators and NOT have the Aux Heater. As mentioned, Aux Heater is an option #41A.

For my 2015 living in the South, it was a $250 option (Rapid Heat) I added above the cost of the dual alternators.

I think you also have to have the auto climate control HVAC and not the manual air con to have got the Aux Heat.

I don't have the 2020 guide excerpt but even XL trucks can get the rapid heat.
