The truck needs new shocks. It appears that the ranchos are the standard fare for the FX4 package. I do know that there are 2.5" lift springs on the front as I saw the skyjacker part number still on the spring. I am unsure if it was leveling or a full lift by previous owners. I am also unsure if I can use stock replacement shocks, or I have to purchase the more expensive longer shocks. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I went with the KYB shocks and Bilstein steering dampener and am happy. I do not have any lift on my truck. Most of the OEM literature will state what lift they cam handle.
I looked up the lengths Skyjacker sold in their kits. Honestly, I was hoping to use standard lengths but the front needs a 2 inch longer shock vs oem. The front has the shock at 19 inches sitting still which max for stock is 20 inches extension, too little working room. The rear may use oem extended length as the lift shock is within 1 inch of each other. Skyjackers prices are comparable to stock prices. So guess I am getting skyjackers...
