I'm out of minnesota just ordered an f350 on Friday. Every ford dealer around here went a little over invoice except one they were about 1500 below invoice. A little over 5k off msrp plus incentives when it comes in.
Ok...thank you. I do come to Des Moines for work trips monthly. As long as it is a southern part of MN, I could possibly combine the trip.
Thank you very much for the explanation. We have usually purchased used vehicles, so are not up to speed on these factory perks and such. Have a great rest of your week!
Boy....the timing of you receiving your PCO is horrible! I guess at least they were thinking of you; but they certainly could have used a faster mail delivery system!!
Actually, the timing was impeccable. Because I ordered the truck, I still have time to obtain and use a PCO until the truck is delivered and I sign on the dotted line. So if you intend to order a new truck, take the time to read the threads about PCOs and work your tail off to obtain one. Easiest $2500 I'll ever save.
Best way to get a real discount is to buy thru the fleet dept, they have totally different invoices and are paid base on volume not profit, one or 100 or more doesn't matter, yeah maybe the guys is an a hole and will charge you $500 more because your ordering one instead of 30, the end result is you will be paying thousands less than retail invoice.

Good evening sir. Ok...that is good to hear, as well. Ironically, the guy in my local area that I did talk to back in 2018 when I was looking at 1 tons is the fleet sales guy. I ended up getting a Ram 1ton then. However, this time around, I'm open to either a 3/4 or 1 ton SRW. I'm thinking gasser and lower trim now just because I'm keeping my Tacoma for off roading and will want to save $$.
I'll do an initial chat with him, just to go over options (on the lot, ability to get from another lot, and special order; as well as go over the options on the xl and xlt to get a minimalist truck that will still be functional for a 6hour drive (that's around what we'd plan to drive in a day, at the most). After talking with him, I'll narrow down what model and options we'd like, and also reach out to some of the places that the others on this thread have indicated.
We are not looking to obtain a rig until after the New Years; so I have time to "network" with the dealers , as well as do a few of the tasks for that PCO pricing.
Oh...and, I do have a guy that was in my former army unit in IA that just transferred over to work at a Ford dealer. I'll touch base with him, as well

Buckwuk, I too am looking in Minnesota or surrounding states. Can I ask which dealer gave you best price? Thanks.
I second the fleet sales dept for ordering a truck. They are much more knowledgeable when it comes to ordering a custom truck. They may and can show you how to combine options to get the best price with everything you want. Many salesmen don’t want to hassle or know what they're doing when it comes to ordering a truck. They want instant gratification and that doesn’t happen with custom build trucks.
Too bad I didn't find this thread before placing my order... oh well. I got 7% off MSRP which worked out to about $1000 under invoice. Not too bad. Way better than some dealers that were offering me $500 off MSRP.
So the truck I’m looking to order is a 2021 f250 7.3 Platinum. I still cannot get any local dealer below $2500 off msrp which is right at $70,000. One even said that was the x-plan price. Can someone verify what would be the x-plan price on this truck? I’m just having a difficult time considering about 1-2 years ago I could get around $7-8000 off without hardly bargaining.

The X-Plan is based on a formula:
1. Go to nadaguides.com and enter your options to get the "Invoice" price.
2. Take the Invoice and subtract 0.4%
3. Add $275 Ford Admin fee
That is the X-Plan price. You can also use the Build&Price tool at ford.com if you first sign in as an X-Plan participant to get the estimate.
When calculating the final price, you will also add $100 max dealer doc fee, in addition to sales tax, registration, and title transfer, as per your state.
I ordered my F250 back in August. When I started shopping around I contacted 15 dealers (by phone and email), gave them my build and asked for their best price. All but 3 just gave me the MSRP and not a dollar less. The dealer I ended upped working with gave me a price $4,200 below MSRP before any discounts. I had to cast a wide net before I could find a dealer who would bargin below MSRP

Ok...thank you very much! I am reaching out to 1 dealer (we were in the same unit together in the army). I sent him 3 builds (a Lariat that I know is going to be above our budget, a well equipped XLT that I will probably use as the baseline and subtract a few options if needed, and an XL that would end up being a very basic truck [and nothing wrong with that]. Once I get his input, if needed I'll reach out to several dealers as you did. We also need to slightly refine our option desires. Happy belated Thanksgiving!
My general plan is to lightly solicit bids now and then place an order the week after the new years.
