93 ford E350 7.3idi battery problems

Hi all, I've recently changed my original 3g alternator with the newer original high output alternator, I've recently changed my starter too with the one with reduction gears so the engine revs with a higher rpm at start, now i have a 12v 800cca 100ah battery att the driver side compartment and the original 12v 600cca 75-80ah the standard van battery thats smaler but higher due to the fanmotor is taking up so much space, and today i found out that maby 2 of the cells on the battery is broken due to internal short, is there another battery make or model that you guys out there would recomend instead od the standard lead acid ford van battery, due to it's special height and width, I would prefer a gel or agm battery instead of the special van battery I can get the dimentions of the battery if anyone requests it, ive drove this van now over 315.000km and only changed the usual wear and tear.
A reply would be much appreciated and the best regards to all van owners out there...

If your batteries are setup like my 89 f250, the batteries are tied together with large cables correct? If that is the case, you need to make sure you run both the same type and size batteries. The way this is setup from the factory, it's like one large battery, the two batteries work as a team. When a battery is replaced, they really should be replaced at the same time, so they are the same age and the same output. If one of the "team" is a lot older, smaller, or a different type battery, then that cripples the team, especially the larger team member. The smaller battery will drag the larger battery down, so you don't get the full output of the larger battery.

Yes they are Linked In together on the +cable but the batteries are over 4years old so that could be that the plates on the battery was so degraded that it coldnt handle the other bygger battwrys current that was pushing on to the starter after the glow cycle was finnished

Your best starting performance will be from two like batteries. If you have any auxiliary power needs, your best solution is some sort of battery isolator to isolate the aux battery from the other two like batteries.
