Hey CobraXP!

I saw your wheels and was wondering if you had any thoughts on the upgrade to the 17s? Ive heard mostly BAD things about doing that but really want something flashier but at what price?!?
Did you have to make any modifications and anything?
Thanks.

Devil -

Sorry - been out of town and sick for the past week...

I love the R's I have, but am going to get a newer set of the 18's also. I have not had problems with them, and did not have to modify anything. Some guys run spacers with theirs, but it is not needed. I personally do not like spacers.

Basically, it comes down to the $$$ you want to spend, and the look you want. I like my wheels and would recommend them to anyone. If you need a name for a good place to get a set, let me know...

So you have not had any concerns with ride harshness or anything similar?

None. I use Michellin SUV 255/60/17 rubber, and they ride great. The only other ones in that size I would recommend would be the BF's. The best sizes to run are either 255/60/17 or 275/60/17. Your ride will depend more on the shocks and rubber you use - not as much on the size wheel.

I have a little stiffer ride than most - but that is because of my suspension mods and not the wheels. Now if you go up to a 20 or 22 wheel, then you might run into problems just because of the limited tire size you could run. 17's or 18's do not hurt as bad - especially if you stay at stock height. Stock height lets you run a little larger tire, so that helps on the ride.
