On the topic of cold starting...my truck will high idle (1100+) when cold. Not immediately, but if I start it and don't hit the throttle or brake, it will eventually kick the idle up. Then, when I step on the brake pedal, it will idle down. If I do not touch anything, and it is still not up to operating temp, it will eventually idle up again. Now this is not every start, just on morning when I go out and think "man, I should have grabbed a heavier jacket!" Is this normal?

EBPV makes a ‘hissing’ noise. This is a butterfly valve in the exhaust outlet of turbo and is like stuffing a banana in the tailpipe.
