Accelerator Pedal differences

As I'm preparing to swap in a Windsor motor into my now-empty engine bay, I realized something I may want to do down the line is change out my accelerator pedal/throttle linkage from the current "chicken foot" cable style assembly (#2 below) to either style #1 or #3 for a rod to the carb. That said, I'm curious what the difference is between styles #1 and #3... both look like they could accommodate a heim joint and rod with the hole facing the fenders, but assembly #1 seems to have a straighter and slightly shorter pole that would then be connected to a throttle rod.

Does anyone know the exact applications of the #1 and #3 styles? Is one for the big-block and FE engines and the other for the 302 and 351M?

Interesting, my truck(1977) has #3 in it. It had a 400 from the factory and that’s what I pulled and replaced it with a 460.
makes me wonder if it’s a year model or package that might have the different pedals?

I had 2 trucks , first was a 1979 f150 Long bed 351 w or 351 m , engine unsure which for sure as truck is long gone , the 2nd truck an the truck I still have is a 1979 f100 302 short bed ,,I cant remember which truck had which pedal but one had the cable #2 and the other had the #1 , and I used the #1 for the same reason didn't like cable but cant be sure which one was which to begin with ,,both auto tranny ,, perhaps #3 was for a 4bbl carb if any truck came with a 4bbl as I am unsure as both mine were 2bbl but #2 would fit either being cable but #3 might have been for wider carb since it has an angle ?? dunno just guessing
