Sync 3 update 2019 F250 issues
I found the information about possible failed APIM, but understand from a TSB that the dealer first has to try to update the Sync software as this supposedly solves some of the issues (ie., they claim many are not a failed APIM). I also found where I can do the USB update myself.
So, I watched the various Youtube and Ford videos on how to do the update.
1. I formatted a 32GB USB drive to exFAT.
2. I checked owner.ford.com and sure enough, for my VIN, says an update is available (SYNC v3.0.19205), so I downloaded the update.
3. Here's where I run into the problem. The instructions show 1 simple ZIP file in the downloaded folder. That's not what I got in the download folder. I have 7 ZIP files. See pic below.
I've tried running the Autoexec files, they do nothing. I've tried unzipping all 7 files, and get 7 new folders, each with a few files in them.
Anyone know how to proceed, or what I did wrong in this process?
Thx

Under the SyncMyRide folder you should have the 7 tar.gz files.
Insert the usb drive into one of the front-most usb drives in the truck and the usb should start extracting the software (mine flickers).

The problems that you mentioned will still be there after you do the SYNC 3 update.
I hate to tell you this but more than likely, you’re going to need a new APIM.
