New injectors

2003 excursion with almost 270000 miles , been chasing a stiction problem for a while now. I changed the oil in September and found Extra oil ( one or more injectors leaking) figured it was finally time to just replace all 8. WOW what a huge improvement in every way. Starts better, no stuttering when cold and all that lost horsepower came home. So much more fun to drive again.

The 6.0 is a love hate relationship like a good looking girlfriend that is just plain crazy...that booty though...
Once you get them lined out they are great. I did a full rebuild and my friggin oil pan leaks from the rear. So aggravating to have that issue after having it on an engine stand and rebuilt myself from the bare freshly machined block up!

I got my heads off right now for gaskets and wondering if I should do my injectors as well. They are 15 years old with 182k+ miles on them. One failed two years ago. So I am leaning toward changing them. Thoughts? B.

When I got mine at almost 200,000 miles there was paper work in the glove box showing a couple injectors previously replaced. It needed an hpop, and 2 more injectors. Ran ok except for Stiction problems always had to warm it up ,would stutter at any thing below 100° engine temp. Hot shot additive and t6 5w40 helped a bunch but it has never run like it does with a full set of good ones.😁 when one or more injectors aren't up to their full potential the rest are compensated down to match.

Mine are all original at 225k miles. My main issue is fuel economy ... it has slowly been dropping and is just about as low as I want to put up with. I have never had an issue with stiction.

have you noticed a difference in engine noise with the new injectors? The 6.0 injectors do "rattle" a bit. Has this noise changed ?

Definitely a little quiter/smoother. Scan Gauge on the way in to work this am was showing a higher mpg average than before.

Posts like this push me to change all mine, instead of just the currently misfiring #5. Motor has 270K miles, and 5 of 8 are original injectors. I know it's about time.

I'm just such a cheap azz I don't want to turn in a bunch of good working injectors for cores!

Hey! Good to see you posting again William!

I'm in the same boat, but at at 225k miles. I am saving up for new injectors - hopefully just after the first of the new year.

Good to see you too, Mark. I've been in, and out. Crazy year. Crazy busy. All is well.

Yesterday I called my local Ford dealership to price new sticks. I provided year, make, model, engine size, and a part#(4C3Z-9E527-BRM). The guy asked if I needed a #8 injector because it's different, and more expensive. I asked if he was looking at 6.0l parts, and he said yes. I had to hang up.
