Low power

Got a 03 F350 with 7.3 in it. Truck was running great a couple of months ago. It decided to one day act like it had no power pulling a trailer. Found the tank began delaminating and a hold in the boost pipe. Replace with new plastic tank and boost pipe. Didn’t fix issue. Now with full boost would smoke white and no power. Found fuel in the coolant. Removed injectors and had tested while out. Found 2 and 7 were dead and thought that was causing the dead skip issue since they are next to each other in firing order. Replaced injector cups and had all injectors rebuilt. Installed new injector harnesses as well. Fired up and ran better. When road testing. Will not make enough power to pull it’s passed 2nd gear. Started smoking white worse this time. Came back. Found some answers on possible IPC. Checked it. IPC is bad ordered new one. Waiting on it. Left it unplugged and ran again. No difference in performance. Found another answer to replace CAM sensor. Replaced sensor and made big difference in idle and performance. Got up to 50MPH but after running about 2 miles lost power and knocks as if dead cylinder. Pulled codes only codes that come up is. P1316 and P1280. 1280 is for the ICP being unplugged. 1316 is IDM injector codes. Is it possible i have a bad injector still? Is is possible that cause is the IPR is not regulating properly? Or IDM is begining to fail? Need help
Thanks George.

Hey George, when you replaced the tank did you do the Hutch/Harpoon mods? If we work our way forward from the tank the screens could be full of the delamination as could the intake of the pump. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Are you using OEM sensors? Have you checked the tin nut on the IPR? How many miles on the new injectors? It will take at least 50 to 100 miles to get the air out of the system and running smoothly again.

What is the hutch/harpon mod? Where are the other screens? I did replace the screen on the bottom of the pump. Yes they are new OEM sensors. I’ve heard about that nightmares from other people. I can get a fuel gauge. Injectors only have about 5 miles at that. Its only been short runs. It idles great at first after does a 2 mile run it sounds like its missing on cylinders.

The video explains the mods. The pics below show the Racor filter I installed in place of the in tank screens. If you have any other questions about that just let me know. Sounds like, fingers crossed, you still have a crap ton of air in the system... until you get some miles on the injectors I would drive the truck. At least at that point we can eliminate Air as being the problem...

The bracket I made for the Racor filter
