Coolant leak from firewall?

Hi guys, it looks like I have an oddball coolant leak that I’m hoping someone here can help me remedy.

There is a port? protruding from the passenger side firewall behind the cylinder head. It appears to be leaking coolant, mostly after shutting the engine off. I attached a few pictures.

Note that I have already replaced the turbo coolant line and inspected all the other hoses.

This is a 2011 King Ranch with 160k miles that has been babied its life.

Thanks a lot for the help.

If coolant is leaking there then its a blown heater core. Thats the evap housing drain.

Considering how complicated every process is on these trucks it appears the heater core isn't to bad to change, I can remember those days pulling half a dash out to get to them.

Would it be a bad heater core or evaporator condenser?

Its the drain for the air conditioner. Water will come from there all year long. When you use the defrosters that hose will drip because the AC is how the system removes moisture from your windows. Of course you know it drips in the summer.

Right on. Problem is that I'm losing about 1 gallon+ of coolant per week and I'm barely driving right now...

If you are adding that much coolant you should see evidence of coolant on the inside of the windshield and smell coolant inside .

If you are loosing engine coolant, and it is coming from the pic you posted it would be the heater core.

none on the inside. It’s all coming from that drain tube.

Ford has a dye that they put in the system. Drive it for a little while and they can see where the leak is coming from. I think they use a black light and some special glasses to see the trail. Beats opening up the heater box and the leak is not there.

Of course, you are looking for an odor and fogging of the windshield. Regardless, you need to open it up and find the problem, most likely a bad heater core.
