My understanding is that the majority of car batteries are made by one of the following three companies; Johnson Controls, Delphi and Exide.
Johnson Controls (now named Clarios) makes the Motorcraft,
Crown Battery Mfg (a subsidiary of EnerSys) makes the Odyssey. EnerSys also makes the Diehard batteries.
Personally if I have an issue with a Motorcraft I go to the Ford Dealer and it is replaced immediately if defective (within the 3 yr warranty) or pro-rated up to 8 years.
I don't want to have to deal with shipping a battery back (hoping that I will get a new one while not being able to use my car) and some of the reviews on Amazon don't give me a warm feeling.
Any authorized Odyssey location should warranty a battery sold from Amazon. Not a third party Amazon seller but Amazon itself. I contacted Odyssey before ordering to be sure I was covered (since Amazon wasn't listed on their list of authorized sellers.) However, I wouldn't bet my life on it and would have ordered from AutoZone if they weren't on terminal backorder at the time.

Amazon is not a authorized retailer, yes there is authorized retailers like BatteryMart on Amazon. Contact Odyssey for further information. They will not honor the warranty and neither will a local retailer.
If you didn't read the entirety of my post, I'll reiterate. Amazon is an authorized seller if you buy directly from them and the reason I know this is I did contact them. Many resellers on their site aren't though. The gentleman I spoke with wouldn't comment on why they hadn't updated their site to indicate that Amazon was authorized. My guess would be that it would hurt other smaller vendors but he wasn't going to comment on that. The distributor to Amazon is "Competition Specialties" so if you get a battery sold by and shipped from, it's coming from them and they are an authorized distributor. It does seem silly that they play this game... I like Milwaukee tools and their warranty. They go by the date code on the side of the unit. No receipt required. Buy it on eBay, Amazon, new, used... it makes no difference. Other companies should stand up and take notice.
Anyways, I'm not trying to be argumentative. I'm just passing along what I was told by the Odyssey rep I conversed with.

That's good to know, one of the two Odyssey batteries I purchased from Amazon just arrived today, the second is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I didn't realize at the time of purchase Odyssey has a 4 year warranty on these batteries. And that's not a pro-rated warranty!

Hey brother that link doesn't work. Thanks for posting though.
For those of you that have purchased the Odyssey batteries how many years of life do you get out of them?
My 2016 still has the original leaky batteries from the factory which is going on 5 years now and I want to replace them before they give me trouble. I will not be replacing them with another serviceable battery that leaks and corrodes so the Odyssey is looking like a very good option even though they are pricey. Like Rodney said it's money well spent to not be worried about corrosion issues.
Odyssey Battery in my other truck is going on 10 years now... Getting time to replace it. Have to throw the charger on it every now and then. I don't drive the truck much.
AGM for the win in my opinion. No more corroded terminals.
Its funny how many folks never lift the hood until the truck doesn't start. We car so much about them yet they dont bother to even dust off the motor check belts and hoses.
This to me is sad. Ya I got a tune deleted my truck and now it wont start.
I clean my engine bay every other car wash. it's a good way to check for oil leaks, frayed belts and corrosion on the batteries. Do Not forget to lift the little red rubber thing. it's usually the positive post that leaks. Then if you see corrosion replace the battery. Don't just get one of those felt rings to put on there.

I have called and sent them emails, here is Today's email response. I used their contact forms on the homepage.
Hello,
They are not an authorized dealer. AutoZone is though.
Batteries purchased at AutoZone can be replaced under warranty at any AutoZone

Alan Kohler
ODYSSEY Battery
TOO FUNNY!!! Alan Kohler is the same one who told me who Amazon's supplier was and that they were good to go on warranty..... LOL... It would appear ol' Alan is having trouble making up his mind. I guess this is why I stated that I wouldn't 100% count on the warranty though Amazon since there is so much contradictory info out there... and now some going in opposite directions from the same guy... In any event, I'm not worried about my batteries or their warranty (or lack thereof) but as I said earlier, if AutoZone wasn't on national backorder, I would have bought there just in case the rare lightning strike does zap me...
If you let the Motorcraft leakers ruin your battery cables outside of warranty and pay for new Motorcraft batteries and the installation of new cables then you could get the cost higher. Sure, it's not a super common event but I've seen it reported quite a bit in the 2017+ section of FTE. Often enough that when mine started to leak and cause corrosion, I spent the money. I don't think the cost is out of line relative to the cost of the truck but everyone's take on cost vs. value is different.
Well yes you can! At work for standby equipment in isolated area's we use Braillie batteries. They make one in a group 65. It will set you back 2400.00 per battery. https://braillebattery.com/collectio...roducts/i65s-1
