Lost my 2019 F150 car key fob

Hi all,
I lost my 2019 F150 key fob, and it looks like I need to tow the car to the dealership who wants more than $500 for a new key fob.
Any idea or suggestions what should I do? maybe a cheaper way?
Thanks a lot!

Call local independent locksmiths, particularly mobile locksmiths. Failing that, call a few dealerships. They won't all be the same price.

Do you still have your 2nd key FOB? I thought I saw a thread about DIY cloning as long as you had at least one FOB...

On edit: did some searching to find a thread to help, and from what I read, you need both key fobs and then can clone a third. It looks like your only option is to go to a dealership. Follow seventyseven's advice and check other dealerships as I read there can be a wide range of what they charge to do a replacement fob...

If you don’t have another fob, your vehicle should have come with two if you purchased it brand new, you will have to get your vehicle towed to a dealer so new fobs can be programmed to your vehicle.

The same would be required if you go to a locksmith and that’s contingent if said locksmith has the proper equipment to program new fobs.

With that being said and regardless of where you take your vehicle, at the very minimum, you’re going to be in the $250.00-$600.00 range.

Maybe the OP could edit the subject line? My first reaction was that the truck was missing.

agreed - do your research in your local area, and get a few different quotes from a few sources...

there's some useful info regarding what to do when you loose keys, and there's also a function to help you find a nearby locksmith

Thanks a lot. actually thats exactly what I did. Couldnt find a dealer that would do it less than $450, not including towing.
I had a locksmith come and he cut the key on site for my, then he connected a special machine and it worked fine.
Charged me $420 total.
Thanks for your help!

The local ACE hardware has started making keys and fobs. I don't know what their capabilities or requirements are, but I did notice the sign they have out front now.

Be wary of the hardware store keys, many of them are "clones", which duplicate an existing key exactly. Two of those cloned keys are NOT the same as "two keys" as the truck sees them as exactly the same key!
