Okay guys, need some help locating a fuel tank for a 2001, F-250 Super Crew, long bed with a V-10. It is a 38 gallon tank. This configuration seems to be the only ones with this tank.
The tank developed a leak around the rear vent fitting, and no one located within 150 miles of Macon GA has one. I repaired the leak by agresssively cleaning and coating the outside with JB Weld plastic epoxy. It appears that the leak has returned, and I'm not sure yet if it is jjust the vent hose or the actual fitting in the tank. The fitting is not removable. I really don't want to replace my truck right now. It still runs great and still only has 153000 original miles.
This tank is like the fabled unicorn. They exist (I have one), but no one else seems to have seen one.
I bought a new replacement tank from NAPA for an old Toyota pickup I had one time. Might check with them. I also have the V10 with the 40 gallon tank.
As far as aftermarket, I have found a couple but the configuration is different, and I would need to buy all the tank fittings and a new fuel pump, and probably need to reconfigure the plumbing to the tank. The tanks themselves are close to $1K without any fittings or pump.

You have a pic of the tank you actually need? I'm seeing to many different types of tanks for these trucks, do you have a part number for reference? There may be a good used one in a local bone yard someone could ****** for you and ship.

I had looked at aftermarket, but none of the aftermarket tanks matched up with the tank in my truck. Used is actually what I was looking for.
Problem solved.
Stopped by a local dealer, and since I was having issues with another vehicle I owned, I am now an owner of a 2020 F-150 4x4. Got rid of 2 issues at the same time.
I think this is the part number you are looking for YC3Z-9002-LB Ford midship 38 gallon fuel tank. Fuel Tank
No that is not the tank. That one appears to be for a short bed. My filller neck was more toward the middle of the tank. Thanks anyway. No longer needed. Traded it and another vehicle that had a trans isssue for a 2020 F-150.
Rock Auto lists 3 replacement tanks for your truck.
Those listed on rock auto are not even close to the correct tank. Not sure where they got there info. They look like they are supposed to be auxilary tanks, maybe mount where the spare tire is located.
