So the SD’s don’t use the Capless system like the F150 and other Ford vehicles?
Are diesel equipped vehicles required to use a regular fuel cap?
Just wondering because I don’t know.
No. Not regulated. My 2016 Cummins was capless.
Capless is a stupid design. It just invites dust, dirt, water (snow) to enter the fuel tank. A very bad combo with how sensitive a diesel's fuel system is. There is a huge aftermarket segment for caps for the Ram trucks to fix the capless issue...I had a set on mine (diesel and DEF fill ports)
Some ******* dropped his fuel cap and another truck ran it over....
I have a 1 hour commute with no fuel cap.
Prolly throw a code, but what else?
Thanks!

Cover it but not with anything that will fall in the OBD monitor test will run only if the tank is mid range full. Too empty or too full and it wont run. The test is what turns on or off the check engine light.
No biggie should clear once u get new cap.
