Hey so I’m gonna do a manual swap for my 1974 f100, it’s got a 360 paired with a C6. The c6 is in rough condition and it would probably be smarter to just repair it but I’m young and I’d like to have it be a manual. So I’m asking for tips, instructions, links, parts lists, anything that will help me to figure this out. I’ve already acquired the NP435 trans but that’s it. And please don’t feel like your going to bore me with details, I will take everything I can get. Also just as a reminder I’m 18 and have only enough tools to fill a truck box so some tool recommendations would nice as well😂. Thanks!
So you're young, and would like a manual transmission. What are you saying? That us "old" guys can't handle a manual transmission? You little knucklehead, I'll break you off at the knees. When I was your age, every truck we had was manual. I can drive a 3 speed on the column, a 24 speed tractor, and everything in between. Ahhh, that felt good. Welcome to FTE!
Have you found a donor pedal bracket? Check with 77&79f250 / Rich. He can probably source what you need. Does your trans tunnel have a removable cover? Is the tunnel tall enough for a manual transmission? I'm sure you know you'll need a new driveshaft. You may have to source a manual transmission crossmember, or make one. You'll need to do some research to find if the rear pinion angle is the same for manual and auto transmission trucks.

okay so I don’t know about the cover on the trans tunnel or if it’s large enough but I check on that. I agree I will probably need a new driveshaft but I was thinking about getting one of those off a parts truck in a junkyard as well as the pedal assembly of that same truck.
And I simply meant that there are some older gentleman who are tired of driving manuals, for example my dad drove heavy duty trucks for a long time that we’re manuals and he’s really good at it but hates them now and is very against my choice of manual swap.😂

LMAO, now I'm a "Tired Old Gentleman" If both my knees weren't scheduled for replacement, I'd stomp your.....Nah, I'm exhausted now. Yeah, I remember my first automatic vehicle was a delight. But now I prefer them all to be manual. Oddly, the only automatic transmission I have is in a Jeep.

Your going to need everything, so you would be better off finding one somewhere that you could take all the parts from.
You'll need a pedal support with three pedals - not sure if you can just add the clutch and stickshift brake pedals into your automatic pedal support.
And you want to be careful there, because the brake pedals can be different, depending on power or manual brakes, and possibly some other variables. It's probably better to look at your brake pedal, possibly the pedal support, and definitely the pushrod into the booster or master cylinder, as a matched set - I've read that problems can arise if you just throw in those pedal conversion parts *****-nilly. So the advice to pick it all from one donor truck is very good advice here.
