Happy Belated Veterans day and i thank you vets for your service and sacrifices you made.
well in camped out again deer hunting. I've seen some does but that's about it. I'm locked back right now enjoying the camp fire and watching a meteor shower. The shower is supposed to peak on the 18th of this month.
.
i like my new steps. My cameras on thus phone has about had it. Picture is kinda blurred.
Didn't work on the truck yesterday. I did manage to get most of the leaves out of the pool but then it started to rain as the cold front went thru. So we went to town to Verizon to get the wife a new iPhone, she dropped and cracked the screen on her old one. They didn't have any iPhone 12's in stock so we had to order one and it will be delivered in 2 weeks. I will bring home some sandpaper and sand the shoes down a hair to get the drums to seat.
Finally heard from Yancey Bros, their plan is to have me work at the store in Calhoun, not what I want to do. I told the recruiter I wanted to work at the main shop in Austell so we will see what happens now.
Did you buy need drums? If not the drums are bell mouthed. Take the drum to Orilieys and have the mic the drums or turn the drums. Sanding will not solve the problem only shorten shoe life. since the go 1/2 way on either the shoes are angled or the drums are messed up. Get another set of eyes on them.
I got rained on as well. I was too tired to do much other than pull in the yard yesterday. I'll have to unpack today and unhook. I have got to take a look at the map sensor and that K&N air filter. For a V6 this truck gets worse gas mileage than a V8. I've never owned a K&N air filter so I'll have to educate myself on it.
Stepped on my glasses Saturday night while looking for them on the ground. I knew where they fell out of my pocket but for the life of me I could not see them until I stepped on them. I'll have to take them and have them fixed or buy new frame.
Calhoun is a nice place. Not a lot of drama like some of the other cities. I hope your able to work something out, maybe more money if they can't move ya.
Yes I bought new drums. Everything in there has been replaced except the parking brake cables.
I remember having that problem before as well. Don't sand on the shoes as that won't fix the problem. If you took a picture of the assembly before you took it apart, Take a closer look at the flat bar that goes between the shoes. With the adjuster run all the way in the top and bottom of the shoes should pull in tight and the drum will go on with no effort.
Have not messed with the brakes yet. I managed to empty the fresh water tank on the motorhome and hooked up my air adapter and purged as much water as I could from the lines today. Supposed to be below freezing here tonight. I also drove the motorhome home tonight, My boss said it's going to be weird it not sitting there at work anymore.
My wife told me the fan quit blowing yesterday. I'm hoping it's just a fuse. I replaced the resistor this past spring. I've found that 2 fuses operate the fan. One fuse controls the speeds 1 thru 4. Another controls speed 5 and cruise control. Even though the fan motor makes no noise while running, I may end up replacing it if it has burned that new resistor out.

You have a great wife!!
Yesterday afternoon at 4:30 I get a call from my wife that the mom in-law was involved in an accident in the Escalade. I rush to the scene and the first thing I see is the other car on the wrecker. This is not going to be good.
Mom in-law is fine and she apologizes 20 times. I just know the passenger side of the Caddy is going to be destroyed.
To my surprise it's nowhere near as bad as what I thought it would be. It looks like the axle/ wheel took a majority of the impact. The rear door will have to be replaced along with the running board. For some reason the coolant expansion tank cracked I guess from the force of the impact. It shoved the rear axle back about 2 inches and messed up the lower trailing arm. It rolled the tire off the rim on the drivers side rear and bent the rim. The passenger side rim is bent from the impact. The drivers side of the axle looks fine.
I had the tow truck drop it off at my work and I will put the spare on it to get it rolling again so I can pull it in the shop at lunch and pull the tire and see just how bad it really is. The truck still drives, we drove it off the road and into a parking lot. Best case it needs new trailing arms, worst case it needs a new rear end. Looking at the pic below it looks like it will also need a torsion bar. There is a truck salvage place in Cartersville about an hour away that has everything I would need to to fix it.
It looks repairable just wondering how much it's going to cost. She can't afford the repairs so it will all be on me. Wife is taking the Envoy to her so she has something to drive. The frame does not look bent but once I get the rear end fixed I will have it put on a frame machine. I ordered 2 rims and I already have some spare TPMS sensors, The tires look OK , no broken glass or blown air bags. More to follow...
Hope your mother-in-law is ok. Now I get to sell one of the trucks, she said I couldn't have 2 diesels. So the 95 is going up. I can do more with the F-250. Besides it's got better road manners if you know what I mean.
Looks like a government tag on that vehicle. I'm glad no one was hurt. Hopefully the frame is fine. Lots of times the bigger stronger vehicle suffers far less damage than the light beer can thrown into the side of it lol.
I think I have the fan fixed. I found there was a loose connection in the snap connector for the motor. One side of the plug appears to have gotten hot from the bad connection. I just took a small screw driver and pulled the pin down so that the connection would be tight, put a little die-electric grease on it and voila, fan works fine.
The car had 2 Army recruiters from the recruiting station down the street. Everyone is fine.
I have 2 new rims, a new tire, a lower control arm and a coolant reservoir on order. Most everything will be in on Saturday, the tire is not coming till Tuesday. So far I am right around $900 in parts with the new rims being a majority of that. We got it in the bay and the only damage we found is to the lower control arm. The rear end and axle looks ok. One of the guys thats works for me has a family member that owns a collision center, hopefully the cost of getting it put on the frame machine to check it out will be minimal.
