More e4od problems

I got a e4od for a 7.3 rebuilt and we put it in and filled it up with atf and it’s been making weird noises and been slipping a lot. It feels like it’s not got enough atf in it and actually it’s almost got too much. What could be the issue? The overdrive off light has been flashing too so please help

The flashing OD light means that codes are stored that will tell you where the problem is. You need to read the codes to fix this.

you need either a Test Light, Analog Voltmeter, or an Innova 3145 Ford Code reader....

https://www.troublecodes.net/ford/ this site will get ya going in the right direction.

I probably sound dumb for asking this but what does all these abbreviations stand for? Like koeo, ocil, Tmil, osc

KOEO = Key on engine off - this is one of the self test modes
TCIL = Transmission Control Indicator Light (the overdrive off light)
MIL = Malfunction indicator lamp (the check engine light)
OSC = Output State Control

The slipping heart is starting to make me think it’s the torque converter is bad. And the codes might be trying to tell me the transmission is slipping. I still haven’t checked the codes yet because I don’t have a obd1 scanner but I’m starting to think the tc is the problem

Did you check the level with the trans warmed up, in park, and the engine idling?

If you want to randomly replace parts without doing any diagnostics, go for it. It will be fun watching you spend $$$$ without fixing the problem. Without the codes all you can do is guess.

You don't need a scanner to read these codes. Got a paper clip? www.troublecodes.net/ford

I wasn’t planning on just buying a new tc without actually questioning the problem. And yes I did check it when it was level and warm and everything and it shows the right amount of atf
